Women of the World attended the 60th Commission on the Status of Women INSERT INTO `wp_posts` (`ID`, `post_title`, `post_excerpt`, `post_content`, `post_date`) VALUES (CSW60) at the United Nations
The event is organized by UN Women and the main topic of this year was the Empowerment of Women and its Link to Sustainable Development. Over the course of 10 days in the New York headquarters of the UN, a great number of representatives from NGOs around the world, as well as leaders and delegates of the various countries that make up the UN, gather together in order to discuss topics that affect women and to decide on measures to improve their situation.
Our main goal, besides enjoying the experience and making the most of the opportunity, was to make known our platform, to get people involved in it and to bring forth our message that it is precisely the traits that characterize us as women that make our role in society so enriching and indispensable.
An intense week because each activity, whether organized inside or outside the headquarters, meant a new opportunity to interact with people from different cultures and meet with representatives from various countries. It was very interesting to share with them the integral vision of women that we defend, the special complementary relationship between men and womenWe were delighted to see that they truly felt that message and implemented it. We were delighted to see that they felt truly identified with these ideas and they expressed their support and satisfaction of knowing that there are people committed to spreading these values.
Additionally, this event was the perfect space for raising awareness of the reality of wombs for rent. Thus, on Monday, March 21st, during an event organized by the Institute of Family Policy and Be WoMan - Be HuMan we presented the "Report of Surrogate Motherhood," written by Professionals for Ethics, and co-edited by other entities among which it it Women of the World Platform.
The report was handed to the delegates of such countries as the Dominican Republic, South Africa, Oman, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Uganda, and Sudan, as well as to representatives from Argentina, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Kenya, in addition to Mexican organizations dedicated to combating human trafficking.
WoW Platform also supported the delegates who courageously defended the values of life, family, and the dignity of women while negotiations on the agreed conclusions that are drawn up each year at the end of the event were taking place.
We were reaffirmed in the need to continue defending the essential role of women and the most distinctive features of our femininity in both the international sphere and the most immediate areas of our lives.
Thank you for supporting our work! Women of the World will continue to highlight the value of women and mothers as major contributors to the stability of the family, work, and society.
